ETL Laos Data Package Prices 2026: Every Plan, Price & Code

The short answer

The cheapest general-data package is ET1_Day — 1GB for 3,000 kip (~$0.13), valid 1 day (*228*89#). Like every Lao operator, you need a registered ETL line before any of these codes work — registration goes through the Lao KYC app or by calling 139.

Unlike Unitel and Lao Telecom, ETL has no confirmed eSIM product of its own at all in its official material — no activation process, no compatibility list, nothing. ETL’s own material doesn’t define what counts as “TikTok/YouTube/Facebook traffic” for fair-use purposes — embedded content, external links, downloads, or in-app calls aren’t addressed. Treat “unlimited” as ETL’s marketing term, not a technical guarantee.

Activate roaming: *228*15# or SMS 15 to 122 (no activation fee, per ETL). Cancel: *229*15# or SMS C15 to 122. ETL’s material states the roaming packages can be purchased repeatedly.

Registration, and why there’s no ETL eSIM to link to

Physical SIM: register through the Lao KYC app or by calling 139 — the same requirement across Enhance and Torch packages specifically, and standard practice for prepaid generally.

eSIM: ETL’s official pages simply don’t have one. No eSIM product page, no QR-issuance process, no device compatibility list turned up anywhere in ETL’s own published material. If a travel-eSIM reseller advertises “ETL network” coverage, that’s their product using ETL’s towers under a roaming-style arrangement — not ETL selling eSIMs directly. Where ETL actually fits

Independent measurements and traveller reports are fairly consistent on this: ETL is the more budget-and-urban of Laos’s three main operators. It’s cheap, KYC and roaming activation are clearly documented, and it works fine in Vientiane, Luang Prabang and along the main highways — but coverage drops off faster than Unitel’s once you’re off the main corridor, and speed tests generally put it behind both Unitel and Lao Telecom. The recurring, sensible advice from actual users is the same one that applies to the other networks: treat ETL as a cheap city-use option or a backup line, not your only connectivity for a trip that goes beyond the main towns.
